BB: An interesting what if, especially since it is well documented that Google has been buying up dark fiber. - PTO Fee Diversion is Constitutional
via Patently-O: Patent Law Blog
BB: Sad. While I understand the decision, the patent office needs to have the resources necessary to complete the job in a reasonable time. In short, if a customer pays a fee to have something processed, how effective does it seem to not use those fees to fund the service or divert the fee for an unspecified time? No wonder it takes five (5) years for some patents to get a grant, not to mention the quality issues. - Absolute Beginner's Video Series to Visual Studio 2005 Express Editions

BB: Is it just me, or does this spark a "who cares"? I have to believe people are smart enough to understand "branding" and marketing names. Do people walk around saying "hey, go check out the hypertext markup page." Like how most people understand the "net", "Internet", "Information Super Highway" can mean the same thing, I think people can learn more than one marketing term for a technology. Speaking of which, when you visit, the site will work with whatever hypertext glyph rendering application you choose to use.

via Neowin.net
BB: A couple of thoughts - the first is that all AntiSpyware product makers need to have a system in place to not only accept contact, but respond quickly to fix issues. This is one reason why I, personally, have not been happy with many of the AntiSpyware products on the market. The issue here is not unlike many of the issues with various anti-virus products. The problem here is that many antispyware products disable the wrong product, many products, or just do not work. In short, in this case, the antispyware product does not disable the proper file... nor is it clear that this product should even be flagged.
